Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes IslandForest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island
The Forest Trust for the Children of Cortes Island Society (FTCCIS) was formed in 2010 to purchase Island Timberlands forest land holdings adjacent to Carrington Bay Park on Cortes Island. These ecologically significant and biologically diverse forest lands lie in the northern wilds of Cortes Island at the northern reaches of the Salish Sea. FTCCIS is a registered charity and has a mission to protect and steward the “Children’s Forest”, to deliver nature-based educational programmes, to conduct scientific research and to hold these forest lands in trust for all children, in perpetuity.
“Imagine … a forest in trust to the children!”
